Glucose Test

The glucose test was not great - two of the needle pokes hurt pretty bad and left some bruises. And I was tired and bored in the waiting room for 3 1/2 hours. BUT, the test results came back normal for all of the blood draws (if two or more were high, I would have had gestational diabetes).

We left for Wisconsin Thursday evening (the 26th) and stayed with my brother and sister-in-law. Kate did not sleep well, so we also did not sleep well. That said, Nathan wasn't able to leave for the AirVenture Air Show as early as he'd have liked Friday morning.:) But Kate and I had a good time with John and Jess and the two little girls Jess nannies for. We went to the park and went out to eat. Then we played in the play area in the mall.

We left the Neenah area around 6 pm and got to Baraboo around 8. Then Nathan and his family left for Wyoming a few hours later. I went to stay with Mom and Bill for another week. They have been good sports to let me stay with them so much this summer! Kate saw a parade for the first time, went boating for the first time, went to the library, helped Grandma make cookies and even picked vegetables from a neighbor's garden (with her permission of course!).

It was good to see Nathan 8 days later. But we haven't seen each other much - the last two days he has been on a junior high retreat. He gets home late this evening. We are hoping to spend some time together Thursday evening.

I can't believe that school starts in 2 weeks already! Not looking forward to an even busier life! Only 10 more weeks until the little guy comes. We still have a lot to do to prepare for him as well. But we are looking forward to seeing him. And to having a name picked out....hopefully we can nail that down in the next few weeks.

Time to close this blog entry. Stay cool!
